What is TEKFISH?
TEKFISH is part of a new approach from the Australian Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) to identify and invest in future-focused innovation solutions to build the sustainability and profitability of the Australian fisheries and aquaculture industry.
TEKFISH is a ‘deep tech’ co-investment platform that will source and develop new business models and advanced technologies to address real industry productivity, sustainability, supply chain and value creation challenges and opportunities.

How does it work?
Challenge Led
TEKFISH is a challenge led platform focused on the biggest challenges that stand in the way of the future sustainability and profitability of the Australian fisheries and aquaculture industry. TEKFISH is actively repositioning these challenges to create the most lucrative opportunities for investment and financial return
Industry Led
TEKFISH is taking an industry led approach by curating challenges directly from commercial fisheries and aquaculture companies. Industry validation means the challenges are big enough to be ‘worth solving’ and that the industry is willing to pay to have them solved.
De-risked
Investment in disruptive aquaculture and fisheries technologies is de-risked through the TEKFISH platform in two ways. Firstly each deal that successfully makes it through due diligence will be eligible to receive co-investment funding from FRDC; and secondly all technology solutions will receive hands-on facilitated adoption support into the Australian market.
